IIMT Bhubaneswar has instituted the "PROFESSOR SONALI DAS ENDOWMENT AWARD FOR THE BEST GIRL STUDENT OF MBA" starting from the academic year 2025-26. This award will be conferred upon a girl student for securing the Highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in her First Year of MBA at IIMT, Bhubaneswar. Prof. Sonali Das, associated with Interscience Institute of Management & Technology as a mentor, is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Business Management, renowned for her substantial contributions to the academic society. Sonali Das, PhD in Statistics from the University of Connecticut,
serves as a distinguished Professor in the Department of Business Management
within the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at the University of
Pretoria in South Africa. Alongside her academic credentials, she holds the
professional designation of SACNASP Professional Natural Scientist (Pr. Sci.
Nat), reflecting her expertise and commitment to the field. Her recent election
into the International Statistical Institute (ISI), a renowned institution
established in 1885, underscores her significant contributions to statistical
science globally. Originating from India and having traversed various regions
in her formative years, Prof Das brings a rich cultural perspective to her
research and teaching commitments. Her academic journey, spanning institutions
like the University of Calcutta and Presidency University in Kolkata,
culminated in a PhD that laid the foundation for her impactful career. Prof
Das's election into the ISI, a privilege reserved for those with substantial
contributions and peer recognition, speaks volumes about her dedication and
