PROF. PRABHAT KUMAR MAHANTI ENDOWMENT AWARD IS DESIGNATED FOR THE STUDENT WHO ATTAINS THE HIGHEST SEMESTER GRADE POINT AVERAGE (SGPA) IN THE THIRD SEMESTER OF THE MCA PROGRAM.

Dr. Aniket Mahanti Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Science, School of Computer Science, The University of Auckland, New Zealand, has established the "Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mahanti Endowment Award" in honor of his father, Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mahanti, a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick, Canada. This award, initiated from the academic year 2024-25, aims to recognize the student who achieves the highest Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) in the Third Semester of the MCA program at IIMT, Bhubaneswar. Professor Prabhat Kumar Mahanti, also associated with Interscience Institute of Management & Technology as a mentor, is esteemed for his significant contributions to the academic society. The recipient of this endowment award will be presented with a citation and a certificate.

Dr. Prabhat Kumar Mahanti is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick, Canada. His academic journey includes earning a Master of Science degree from IIT-Kharagpur, India, and a Ph.D. from IIT-Bombay, which is renowned as one of India's top-ranking premier institutions.
Professor Mahanti's extensive research portfolio spans various domains within computer science, showcasing his expertise in Software Engineering, software metrics, reliability modelling, modelling and simulation, numerical algorithms, finite elements, mobile and soft computing, verification of embedded software, neural computing, data mining, Machine Learning, and multi-agent systems.
With a prolific academic career, spanning four decades and multiple continents, Professor Mahanti has authored and contributed to hundreds of research papers and technical reports, solidifying his standing as a respected figure in the international academic community. His membership in various international technical committees further underscores his commitment to advancing knowledge and contributing to the development of cutting-edge technologies within the field of computer science.
