IntroductionIndian has made an awakening attempt to empower women and organizing the house wives in productive activities with a view to utilize the mandays lost in the process. In our endeavour to empower women we could contact about 80 women Self Help Groups of the locality and studied their various problems and thought it wise to conduct a two days seminar on Participatory Strategic Business Plan for Co-Operative Leaders so that we can make them understand various aspects of business management and sources of income creation by housewives in their leisure time. Seminar was conducted on 12.10.2008 and 13.10.2008 with a participation of 100 women beneficiaries from those Self Help Groups. Sri Ramchandra Bal, Reserve Bank of India inaugurated the Seminar by lighting the lamp alongwith the Founder Director and Chairman of the Interscience Group. On the first day the problems of Self Help Groups were discussed at length. The participatory strategic plan was also discussed and various avenues to increase the income were discussed by Prof. Ajaya Kumar Mohanty. On the second Day Sri Souribandhu Kar, leading leader for the working class gave many advices to the women participants. As coordinator of the seminar Prof. A K Mohanty extended his vote of thanks and concluding remarks.
