Message from the Director

The INTERSCIENCE INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT & TECHNOLOGY (IIMT), Bhubaneswar is known for academic excellence, research contributions, executive development programme and industry interface. We at INTERSCIENCE believe in ‘Kaizen’ which means never-ending efforts for improvement involving everyone in the organization – teachers, students and staffs alike. I must mention here our last year’s activities and achievements. We conducted Bharat Operating System Solutions (BOSS) Workshop on 27.03.08 in association with C-DAC, Mumbai followed by National Seminar on Globalization and Manufacturing Competitiveness sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi on 05.07.08 – 06.07.08 and National Seminar on Business Intelligence sponsored by IT companies on 09.08.08 & 10.08.08. The institute has also organised an Induction Training Programme and a Staff Development Programmes (SDP) on Optimisation for Management & IT Teachers sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi in its maiden year itself.

We became a collaborating partner of Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Ahmedabad in September 2008 to provide Open Learning Programme on Entrepreneurship leading to a one year Diploma. we became the institutional member of European Case Clearing House in April 2009. We started a new online International Journal on “Journal of Corporate Governance Research” from Macrothink Institute, USA, where the Professors of the institute are working as Executive Editor and other editorial board members. In the first year itself we nominate our students to attend various national events at various reputed institute. To mention a few, a team of four students attended International Conference on Innovation in Redefining Business Horizons held at IMT Ghaziabad on 18-19 December, 2008. Another team of five Students attended 6th International Conference on E- Governance held at IIT Delhi, 18-20 December 2008. A team of nine students participated in Entrepreneurship Summit, one of the biggest Entrepreneurship Event in the Eastern Zone organised by IIT, Kharagpur. A batch of 30 students attended one week training programme on Share Trading and Portfolio Management at the Bhubaneswar Stock Exchange. I am proud to say that our student team won second prize in the national level ‘Business Plan Competition’ in CURA 09, organised by NIT, Warangal during 6-7 February, 2009. Another team also won First prize in the state level Quiz competition conducted by National Productivity Council (NPC) State Centre, Bhubaneswar. In the first year itself the institute arranged Summer Internship Training in as many as 28 companies.

I on behalf of the institute extend my heartfelt thanks to all the organisations namely Dhamra Port Corporation Ltd., Orissa Power Generation Corporation, ADECCO, Tata Sponge & Iron Ltd., Videocon industries Ltd., Coca Cola Ltd., NALCO, JINDAL Stainless Steel, Aarti Steel, Rawmet Ltd., HINDALCO Ltd., JACKSONS Ltd., Steel Authority of India Ltd.. for giving Summer Internship Training. While we feel proud of our achievements in last one year, our vision is to emerge as one of the top management school in the country.
